The highest rate of mortality has the pancreatic cancer :
– 94% of patients who have cancer die in first 5 years and just 8% survive .
Pancreas cancer spreads quickly and is usually detected in the latest stages .
Symptoms are :
– weight loss,
– back or abdominal pain,
– loss of appetite,
– yellowing of the eyes and skin, blood clots,
– diabetes and
– changes in stool.
A study published in the British Journal of Cancer covered analyses on 11 clinical trials,and 6,643 patients with pancreatic cancer.
They also involved 11 studies and case reports on over 6,000 patients in a search for a connection between processed meat and cancer.
The result showed that people, who ate 150 gr. of processed meat everyday, increased the risk of pancreatic cancer by 57%.
“Pancreatic cancer has small rate of survival. This means, it is important to discover it early and it is very important to know what can increase the risk of the disease” said Susanna Larsson, an epidemiologist at Sweden’s Karolinska Institute.
The World Cancer Research Fund recommends avoiding processed meat, including pepperoni, sausage, ham, bacon, hot dogs and smoked turkey because they contain nitrites and nitrates and all of them are tied to cancer.
The second great risk factor that increases the risk of pancreatic cancer by 74% is smoking .
Avoid proceed meat and cigarettes to prevent cancer .
