What do the numbers on the stickers on bananas, oranges, mean?

When you buy fresh fruit, especially bananas, apples, oranges and tangerines that have stickers of themselves, pay attention to the numbers that are on them.

If the numbers are with four digits that begin with the numbers 3 or 4, it means that the fruit is grown on the “traditional way” and there is a huge chance to have inserted pesticides.

If the fruit you intend to buy has 5 digits on the sticker from which the first is number 8, this indicates that it is a genetically modified product.

A third case is if the fruit has five digits, the first number is 9. In this case we are talking about healthy and organic products, grown without pesticides and additives. This is the best and most preferable fruit you should buy.
