Most Popular Tea Bags Contain Illegal Amounts of Deadly Pesticides (avoid these brands at all costs) – Healthy Food And Sport Tips

Pesticides are everywhere. They are sprayed in school playgrounds and public parks, and can even be found on the produce we buy from the grocery store.

We do everything we can do avoid contact with these pesticides, from washing our produce before we eat them to buying organic or homegrown fruits and veggies.

One of the more recent examples of this includes the discovery of incredibly high levels of pesticides in some of the world’s most popular tea brands including Lipton, Allegro, Celestial Seasonings, Tazo, Teavana, Bigelow, Republic of Tea, Twinings, Yogi, Tea Forte, Mighty Leaf, Trader Joe’s and Tetley.

These levels are dangerously high to the point of being considered unsafe. So drinking cheap tea can be as bad as eating junk food.

Cheap tea bags contain fluoride and pesticides

As most non-organic tea plants are not washed during preparation, pesticide residues stay on them in quantities well above the allowed limits. According to a recent study, cheap tea brands contain enough fluoride to endanger your life and increase the risk of serious diseases.

Some of these tea brands contain 7 parts per million fluoride, while only 4 ppm is allowed. This is terrifying as fluoride is very harmful and can accumulate in your body for years. The plant accumulates fluoride as it grows, so older herbs and their leaves contain more of it. Low-quality teas are often made of these leaves and are far more harmful.

What about decaffeinated tea?

As it turns out, decaf tea is even more dangerous.

– This is why you should stick to white tea and always buy organic tea for home.

– Buy loose leaf tea and brew your tea from scratch instead of using bagged tea.
