Swedish diet consists of decreased amount of carbs and increased amounts of fat and proteins. And the best of all is that you don’t need to count calories or go by a timeline .All you need to do is to follow its rules about what to and not to eat.
One of the positive sides of the diet is the fact that you can eat when you’re hungry and until you feel full. But you must keep away from the forbidden foods .If you can resist to bad food and eat only good food then you will lose 5-10 pounds per week.
What to eat:
1. All kinds of meat: beef, lamb, turkey, pork, game meat, chicken. Also, the meat fat is not forbidden and the chicken skin as well. 2.All types of fish and shellfish 3. Eggs – organic eggs are the best and you can eat them:boiled, fried or omelets. 4.Vegetables that grow above the ground: cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, asparagus, zucchini, eggplant, olives, spinach, mushrooms, cucumber, lettuce, avocado, onions, peppers, tomatoes, etc. 5.Natural dairy products rich in fats: Greek/Turkish yogurt, butter, sour cream, cream cheese, high fat cheeses etc.
6. Nuts – all kinds: sunflower and pumpkin seeds, almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, Indian and Brazilian nuts, etc. (within limits).
Rarely you can consume:
1.Dry red or white wine, whiskey, brandy, and vodka.
2.Dark chocolate that is made of 70% cocoa .
Note:they might slow down the weight loss a little bit.
Avoid fruits because they have lots of sugar, and if you decide to eat some can make sure you treat it as real candy.
What to avoid:
Sodas, sweetened juices, pastry, sugars, cakes, chocolate, desserts, ice cream, muesli, muffins, granola bars and artificial sweeteners.
Grains and starch, bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, French fries, chips, and porridge. Legumes, beans, and lentils because they are rich in carbs. Margarine, beer and refined oils.
What to drink:
– Water – Coffee (full fat cream is allowed)
– Tea (without sweeteners)
