This was also proven by a study which was conducted by the scientists of the Medical Sciences University of Iran. For the purpose of this study, the participants were divided into 2 groups. Each group was consisted of 44 women. All of these women had problems with their weight.
For the next three months the women from both groups were eating healthy and they consumed less than 500 calories a day.
The first group has consumed 3 grams of powdered cumin a day, mixed with 140 g of yogurt.Another group of women consumed the same amount of yogurt without the addition of cumin.
The results were unbelievable. Namely the first group, the one who consumed cumin with their yogurt, lost 14 pounds more than the group who consumed their yogurt without cumin.
What’s even more amazing is the fact that the first group lost more fat than the second group. What we are trying to say is that the first group lost 14.64 percent, and the second lost only 4.91 percent fat.
This is mainly because the cumin is high in filosterole, which is able to prevent retention of cholesterol in our body. That is the main reason why cumin can speed up metabolism and make us lose extra weight.
